This role will also develop tooling and lay technical foundations to enrich our QA capabilities, while participating in agile ceremonies with their assigned development teams and manually testing new features as they become code complete.</p><h2>Responsibilities (What we expect)</h2><ul><li>Develop &amp; maintain test automation frameworks and automated tests to support day to day operations of web platforms.</li><li>Work together with other Quality Engineers to ensure effective verification of test specifications and requirements.</li><li>Identify areas requiring quality improvement, initiate and follow through on plans of action necessary for implementation.</li><li>Develop new automated test scripts.</li><li>Work closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to ensure effective validation of user needs and business requirements.</li><li>Perform smoke tests and regression testing, both manual and automated, as part of the release cycle.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications (What you bring to the role)</h2><ul><li>4+ years of professional experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role highly focused on software testing automation.</li><li>Strong programming skills in JavaScript.</li><li>Strong experience in designing, creating, and executing complex test plans.</li><li>Strong experience with Playwright.</li><li>Applied knowledge of manual testing.</li><li>Experience in automated API testing, specifically using Postman.</li><li>Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.</li><li>Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.</li><li>Be available as needed to assist in production deployments on alternating Friday evenings from approximately 4pm - 7pm PST.</li><li>Proficiency in the English language is highly preferred. </li></ul>Bonus Points:<ul><li>Experience with performance and/or security testing.</li><li>Experience with programming languages such as Python and/or Go.</li><li>Knowledge of CI/CD and experience working with Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar tools.</li></ul><h2>How You'll Know You’re on the Right Track</h2><ul><li>Within your first two weeks, you will have a basic understanding of the Persefoni platform, the roles of the teams that are building it, and where your contributions will  be the most valuable. You will shadow other QA Engineers to understand the technology and tools we are using, our internal best practices, and start to develop a deep understanding of QA at Persefoni.</li><li>Within your first four weeks, you will understand the needs of our growing QA infrastructure and begin to develop automated tests, quickly and effectively growing our test repo to increase coverage of existing features.</li><li>Within six weeks of your start date, you will grow to fully support one or more application teams by developing automated tests for all new features being developed.
