Established in 1907, Sargent Electric Company has since evolved into one of the largest electrical contracting companies in the area, providing comprehensive services to our clients.   We are looking to hire an experienced ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR in our Pittsburgh, PA office that is able to prepare an entire estimate with very little or no supervision.  He/she works closely with and aids the Preconstruction Manager and Chief Estimator in developing estimates.  RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Attend Pre-bid, Scope Review and other meetings wherever located with the clients as required.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Bid projects with enough detail to provide accurate proposals using estimating software. (Accubid preferred)</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Establish a project approach plan for each estimate, including how long it takes to estimate a project.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Must be fully versed in the reading, review and understanding of specifications as they apply to specific jobs and be able to process the information contained therein in the preparation of estimates.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Must be able to understand and make appropriate interpretations of all drawings and documents.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Ability to work in a team atmosphere.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Must understand fully the use of drawing symbols as they relate to various systems, i.e. fire alarm, lighting, lighting controls, motor controls, switches, receptacles, etc.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Must be experienced with drawing scales and the use of scale takeoff devices.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Aids significantly in the training of others.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Work closely with general contractors, architects, engineers and customers as required.</li></ul>------------------------------------------------------------------ BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Electrical Estimator, primarily Commercial Industrial applications.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Experience on projects $100k-100m</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Commercial and Industrial knowledge. – Healthcare / Mission Critical preferred.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Must be able to recognize/identify potential discrepancies and errors in documents and develop questions for timely response. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Ability to identify value engineering opportunities.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Ability to develop estimates based in various stages of design.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Knowledge/understanding of all electrical work and materials used.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Capability to set up and complete an ACCURATE takeoff and enter quantities in a neat, professional manner. </li></ul> What we are offering Opportunity to work with one of the nation’s industry leading electrical contractors.
