Power Electronics group at Lucid Motors is looking for an experienced and motivated power electronics technical specialist to develop industry-leading power converters. In this role, you will do research, development and optimization of power converters while collaborating with firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to implement technologies that define Lucid powertrain.

The Role:

Analysis and design trade-off studies of electrical architecture and power converter topologies
Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in automotive applications.
Start to finish ownership of hardware – from specification to design, component selection, prototype, testing, validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, firmware engineers to design and validate power converters.
Work with manufacturing team to ensure efficient and high-yield production of the power converter.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC)
Hands-on hardware experience in power converter (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC) design
Good understanding of power conversion topologies and control strategies, switching device characteristics and losses, gate driving circuit design, magnetics, capacitors etc.
Good experience with design of analog/digital circuits
Experience in PCB layout.
Proficiency with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, Signal Generators etc.)
Experience with Design for Manufacturing and DFMEA

Advantageous:

Familiar with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools
Familiar with electromagnetic compatibility
Familiar with environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for automotive applications

Education Requirements:

BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering. PhD preferred.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$140,000—$192,500 USD
