Summary:

We are currently looking for a full-time Mechanic at our Chicago location for our third shift.

Job Description

Direct work group and coach other mechanics. This is a Mechanic position. Review and approve paperwork. Assist in asset maintenance as needed. Diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel class 8 trucks and perform PM services for trucks including rear end loaders, front end loaders, roll-offs, tractors, and box trucks. Perform metal fabrication and welding. Diagnose and repair - forklifts, skid steers, wheel loaders, roll offs, rear loaders & front loaders including hydraulic systems. Complete truck overhauls- retired unit rebuilds. Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure to motor truck or related equipment. From time to time asked to go on a road call for repairs. When applicable, use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete truck repair. Apply knowledge of DOT and OSHA rules and regulations plus Company Safety Policies

Requirements

Qualifications:

· 2-5 years of truck repair experience

· Must have experience in Mack, Kenworth & Peterbuilt trucks 

· Experienced in engines, transmissions, and electrical systems 

· Must have own tools 

· CDL B license a plus 

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred 

· Ability to work in all weather conditions 

· Ability to work for the afternoon shift

· Welding experience preferred but not required 

· Must be able to trouble shoot and perform analysis of component parts and systems on a truck or tractor trailer 

· ABS systems diagnostic experience

· Moderate supervision and follow-up

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more 

· Must have mechanical ability
