Timmons Group is always accepting applications for experienced Senior Materials Engineering Testing Technicians for future opportunities. While we may not have an immediate opening, we will keep your resume and information for future opportunities. Under the direction of the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager, applies learned skills and technical ability to observe and test various materials associated with site, road and building construction by performing assigned duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Under the direction of senior engineering staff, performs field materials testing of soil, asphalt and concrete</li><li>Prepares detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results, observations and recommendations provided</li><li>Reviews project plans and specifications prior to construction to ensure knowledge of project details and requirements</li><li>Performs basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepares reports of results</li><li>Ensures field and laboratory testing equipment is in proper operating condition</li><li>Maintains all certifications as determined by senior engineering staff</li><li>Assists senior engineering personnel with conducting geotechnical investigations</li><li>Evaluates site conditions on construction projects and provides recommendations with input from senior engineering staff</li><li>Communicates with clients, contractors and senior engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues</li></ul>Skills/Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.<ul><li>Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED  </li><li>Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of related experience or training</li><li>Current ACI certification for concrete is a plus, but not required</li><li>Current NCOT certifications for soils, concrete and asphalt pavement are a plus, but not required</li><li>Must have received training on the field equipment used to perform tests and the office equipment used to generate data, results and reports</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals  </li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence  </li><li>Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, inspect constructed work, make recommendations in the field and to perform calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment</li><li>Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations</li><li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists  </li><li>Ability to learn and interpret documents such as plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals</li></ul>Company Benefits<ul><li>Company vehicle provided for this role</li><li>Health, dental, vision and HSA</li><li>3 weeks PTO</li><li>401k up to 5% match</li></ul>#LI-DNI
