The site consists of a workshop, offices, and an outside storage area. LOCATION: Cardiff Schedule of Work: 40hr per week Typical Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4pm, overtime when required CONTRACT: Permanent SALARY: Competitive salary + annual bonusAs the Workshop Technician you will be responsible for:<ul><li>General Engineering/Fitting Tasks including drilling, grinding, working with stainless and copper pipework.</li><li>Undertake preparation, welding, testing and refurbishment of components on cryogenic storage tanks.</li><li>Fabrication and welding of steel framework for pipework supports.</li><li>Replacement of valves, gauges, and instrument work.</li><li>Complete failure reports on equipment.</li><li>Assist with investigations as part of Returns/Complaints processes to identify common failure modes.</li><li>Contribute to Continuous Improvement Events within the department</li><li>Assist with Facility Preventative Maintenance tasks as requested by the Workshop Manager</li></ul>As the Workshop Technician, you already are or have:<ul><li>Previous experience in similar position</li><li>NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline</li><li>Knowledge and usage of pressure washing equipment (remove washing)</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Basic computer skills</li><li>Ability to work safely and effectively within a team and as an individual</li></ul>Desirable requirements or qualifications<ul><li>Full UK driving licence</li><li>MEWP licence (IPAF)</li><li>Mobile access tower licence (PASMA)</li><li>Overhead crane operation training</li><li>Familiarity with oxy-acetylene cutting equipment and portable cutting / grinding tools</li><li>Basic understanding of pressure vessels and associated components – safety devices, regulators, valves, gauges etc.</li><li>Basic engineering knowledge of machining, pipework fitting, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, soldering and brazing disciplines</li><li>Experience working with equipment required to meet minimum oxygen cleanliness standards</li><li>Counterbalance B1 forklift truck usage and basic inspection training</li></ul>We are the world’s largest hydrogen producer with over 80 years of industrial gas experience.
