This role focuses on leading the design and engineering of bridge projects throughout South Africa, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in bridge engineering and a passion for delivering innovative infrastructure solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design and Engineering:<ul><li>Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, ensuring compliance with local standards and international codes.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative bridge designs that meet project requirements and client expectations.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports for bridge projects.</li></ul>Project Management:<ul><li>Oversee bridge projects from initiation through completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.</li><li>Ensure the production of engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations is completed on schedule and to the required quality standards.</li><li>Facilitate design reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, quality control, and regulatory compliance.</li></ul>Client and Stakeholder Engagement:<ul><li>Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities, presenting design solutions and addressing technical concerns.</li><li>Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and maintained.</li></ul>Innovation and Sustainability:<ul><li>Champion the integration of sustainable engineering practices into bridge designs, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental considerations.</li><li>Stay informed on the latest advancements in bridge engineering, materials, and technologies to drive innovation in project delivery.</li></ul><div></div>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, specializing in bridge engineering.</li><li>Experience: 8+ years of experience in bridge design and project management, with a proven track record of successful infrastructure projects in South Africa.</li><li>Skills:<ul><li>Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Midas, SAP2000, CSI Bridge).</li><li>Strong knowledge of local bridge design codes and standards (SANS, TRH, etc.).</li><li>Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div>How to Apply?Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and cover letter outlining their qualifications and experience via email to SJ-MEjobs@surbanajurong.com.
