Intern Food Application

The project has a duration of 6-7 months, beginning May 2025. We only place current students that need to do a mandatory internship for university.
About Farmless
At Farmless we’re brewing amino acid complete proteins without agricultural land. We’re creating a new interface between food and energy by selecting nutritious microbes that taste great and can grow on renewable energy-based feedstocks. Our fermentation platform is up to 5000 times more land efficient than animals, which allows humanity to free up vast amounts of land, rewild our planet and draw down gigatons of carbon.
The Role
At Farmless, we're offering an exciting internship opportunity where you help shape the future of food production. We are looking for a motivated Food Application intern who will support in the use of enzymes to improve our product and process. The role requires creative thinking combined with a deep understanding of the functioning of enzymes.
Responsibilities
Perform literature research on the influence of enzymes on the functionality and quality of our product
Design and execute experiments using enzymes
Assessing the impact of enzymatic treatments on the product quality and functionality
Support in harvesting and routine analysis of our protein
Writing of SOPs
Requirements
Background in Food (Bio)technology or a related field.
Strong skills in working precise and structured
Team player skills with excellent English proficiency.
We only hire interns that need to do a mandatory internship to graduate from university

Farmless has found a way to achieve this: by brewing carbon-negative, functional proteins with a complete amino acid profile.</p> <p>The Farmless process combines the ancient craft of fermentation – which has been used for millennia to brew beer and bake bread – with a modern feedstock (the scientific term for a starter liquid). Whereas most fermentation companies rely on sugar, Farmless uses a feedstock made from CO2, water, nitrogen and renewable energy – bypassing the need for agricultural land. </p> <p> </p>
