This position participates in and supports the generation of program resources and the design and development of program operating goals, objectives, and protocols. The Technical Specialist I serves as the primary point of both internal and external representation and liaison with respect to program implementation and operational matters, and provides technical and program guidance, consultation, and support.ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 are internationally recognized standards that focus on quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety management, respectively. These standards provide a framework for organizations to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve their management systems. Must have experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 standards.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>Integrated Management Systems (IMS)</li> <li>International Sustainability &amp; Carbon Certification (ISCC)</li> <li>Environmental Management System (EMS)</li> <li>Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)</li> <li>Quality Management System (QMS)</li> <li>Other programs in the EBC division, as needed</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Management<ul> <li>Plan, conduct, and lead third-party audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards</li> <li>Evaluate organizations compliance with management system requirements and identify areas for improvement</li> <li>Prepare detailed and objective audit reports, including non-conformities, observations, and recommendations adhering to the agreed timeline</li> <li>Support the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings</li> <li>Communicate in a timely and professional manner with internal staff and external clients</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams to ensure audit consistency and adherence to accreditation body requirements</li> <li>Train and mentor audit team members, ensuring audits are conducted efficiently and effectively</li></ul>Auditing and Technical Expertise<ul> <li>Complete clear technical audit reports with increasing complexity (expansive scope, complex industry, standard), including applicable calculations, interpretation of testing results, and research</li> <li>Conduct data analysis and modeling</li> <li>Interpret results of analysis and prepare written reports</li></ul>Quality and Program Development<ul> <li>Deliver verification services in accordance with SCS Corporate and Program Quality requirements, in addition to participation in periodic internal and external accreditation audits</li> <li>Support the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirements</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related) and</li> <li>2+ years of experience working in a related sector and</li> <li>Relevant experience in auditing management systems with at least 2 full certification cycles</li> <li>Certification as an ISO auditor (e.g. IRCA or equivalent)</li> <li>Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, including their integration</li> <li>Excellent technical writing, observation, and data management skills</li> <li>Strong communication abilities and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis</li> <li>Ability to analyze data and evaluate processes objectively</li> <li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li> <li>Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and to provide realistic deadlines</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail</li> <li>Complete fluency in English with work experience that involves professional verbal and written communication</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced level in Excel</li> <li>Initiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive to team environment</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Experience in multiple industries, including manufacturing, biofuels, and ethanol</li> <li>Multi-language proficiency (e.g. English and Spanish)</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
