<div><span style="font-size:14px;">POSITION OVERVIEW:  </span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">The Process Engineering Technician is responsible for analyzing and managing sample flow from experiments on 3D laser powder bed fusion systems in development at Velo3D. Samples will come from a wide range of sources within the organization including process engineering, applications, manufacturing, and field service escalations. External sources of samples to be managed include customer and partner samples. Internal analysis and sample shipment for external analysis will be directly managed, performed, and tracked by the Process Engineering Technician. This position will report directly to the Director of Process Engineering.</span></div><div> </div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Collect and organize samples generated by other groups (process, quality, manufacturing) </li><li>Track necessary tests to drive short turnaround times internally and externally </li><li>Generate and maintain standard operation procedures for metrology operations </li><li>Communicate status updates with key stakeholders </li><li>Ship and receive samples as necessary to complete testing requirements </li><li>Perform sample preparation (EDM, chiseling, epoxy puck preparation, etc.) </li><li>Collect sample measurements and perform testing (microscopy, profilometry, x-ray inspection, powder test stand, etc.) </li><li>Troubleshoot laboratory equipment, perform necessary maintenance for equipment, and coordinate with manufacturers to make necessary repairs </li><li>Participate in team and other assigned meetings </li><li>Other duties as needed or required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>High School Diploma and at least 2 years of applicable experience with a demonstrated track record of success.</li><li>High commitment to contribute to a positive, high paced and results-oriented work environment </li><li>Strong sense of ownership to ensure quality data is collected in a timely manner and any/all issues are quickly escalated </li><li>Experience in a troubleshooting/experimental setting </li><li>Good computer skills to enter data and record information </li><li>Good mechanical aptitude (basic machine operations, monitoring, debugging) </li><li>Ability to organize workflows and track external vendor status </li><li>Committed to quality, safety, and communication </li><li>Ability to initiate conversations that may lead to topical disagreement </li><li>High level of accountability, including the ability to give and receive feedback </li><li>Skilled in communicating, both verbal and written, on experimental and other results </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Team-oriented and self-directed</li><li>Start up experience is a plus.</li></ul><h3>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</h3><ul><li>Able to lift a maximum of 60 pounds and stand for extended periods of time</li><li>Must wear steel-toed boots</li><li>Must wear protective eye-wear </li><li>May require hearing protection  </li><li>High frequency of computer keyboarding</li><li>High frequency of viewing a computer monitor</li><li>Other personal protective equipment as applicable</li></ul><br><div><strong style="font-size:14px;">About the Company:</strong></div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">Velo, Velo3D, Sapphire and Intelligent Fusion are registered trademarks of Velo3D, Inc.
