About Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP)

About this role
The new markets role will report to the Head of Business Development. The role will be responsible for ensuring the sustainability of Mulilo’s business case and product offering, whilst supporting the Business Development team place 500-1000MWs of renewable energy in the market on an annual basis.
Key tasks will include:
- The development of a market entry strategy to participate in an unbundled market,
- Develop a multi technology product offering (Wind, BESS and Solar) to maximize value to customers,
- Creation of a multi-buyer, multi-tenor product offering from a single/multiple facilities,
- Development of a private storage business case,
- Oversee principles to develop a 5-10 year asset deployment strategy with external advisors
- Continuous oversight and feedback of market regulations and its impact on the Mulilo business case
- Finding pricing, technology, policy gaps that ensure Mulilo remains a market leader
- Support Business Development and REIPPPP team leads to execute tenders
- Develop the business case for an aggregator
Duties and responsibilities
Develop multi-buyer, multi tenor contracting structure
- Develop project portfolio/business case, which allows for multiple customers of different contract lengths and uncontracted revenues, that will attract debt and equity
- Tariffs for different tenors (engage with lenders, legal, project finance, technical departments and BD team to ensure appropriate risk is balanced)
- Feed into the development of supply agreements
- Feed into the financial structuring to support financial model outputs
Tools and customer engagement
- Develop multi-technology optimization tool and business case (Solar and Batteries, Solar and Wind, Solar Wind and Batteries, Standalone Batteries) with external parties
- Develop niche solutions for key customers that target maximum savings, maximum RE penetration across variable demand profiles.
- Run scenarios and quantify risks to simplify Mulilo PPA offering
- Oversee Mulilo PPA merchant model assumptions and ToU offerings
Policy and legislation
- Unpack market code and develop Mulilo entry strategy
- Report on Electricity Regulation Act and be centre of excellence to use policy to our advantage
- Lead wheeling partnerships and engagements (virtual, token etc)
- Attendance and speak at key policy forums and regulatory events – promoting Mulilo as a knowledge leader
- Take the lead on Green value creation in the business (RECs, Carbon Tax, CBAM)
General tasks
- Represent Mulilo at key regulatory and stakeholder events
- Lead external strategy discussions with external advisors
- Develop annual budgets
- Present strategy and product offering/packages to senior teams
- Support bidding and sales team in key submissions
Required skills and educational background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or related field. Masters and or MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in the renewable energy sector, with a clear understanding of tariffs, regulatory policies, market reforms, industry players
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to link risks to different departments and legal contracts
- Highly proficient in excel and or similar system to review and model options for customers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure with competing demands.
- Positive dynamic ambitious personality.
- Being a self-starter and possessing the ability to motivate others.
- Possessing high integrity and work ethics.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with an acute attention to detail and an ability to handle multiple priorities.

Additional Information
Able to work overtime according to operational needs.
The position is based at the offices of the company, but travel may be required occasionally.
