Entry Level Operator

Summary

The Operator is based out of our Edmonton facility where they will be responsible for handling, consolidating, and processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facility. The Operator must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks.

Job Duties

• Loading and offloading products and waste as required.

• Operate equipment such as wheel loader, forklift, and vac truck.

• Perform physical tasks including lifting, moving containers and other heavy materials.

• Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.

• Operation of processing machinery and equipment as required.

• Ensure safe operation and procedures are followed at all times.

• Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted.

• Complete job hazard risk assessments.

• Provide facility support and process work when required.

• Involved with execution of chemical and petroleum transfers.

Requirements

• Experience operating a wheel loader

• Experience processing hazardous/non-hazardous waste is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Regulatory and technical knowledge with respect to the Hazardous Waste Management Industry is a definite asset.

• Additional training and experience such as First Aid / CPR, H2S Alive is an asset.

• Ability to perform physical labour intensive tasks

• Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, time management and communication skills.

• Enthusiastic self-starter with a strong work ethic and proven track record for success.

• Reliable team player that is supportive of co-workers.
