GreenSwapp AI is an ML-powered data algorithm & API service for retailers & CPG brands to harmonize product data and estimate the (Scope 3) carbon emissions of their products, at scale - 2 min video explaining the AI / tech. Our API integrates with existing systems to - 

1. automate mandatory CO2 emissions reporting regulations

2. identify lower-impact products to procure and meet their climate reduction targets

3. communicate product-wise impacts to customers

About being our LCA research lead / Climate scientist

Following a successful launch last year that saw several large businesses adopting our tech, we are now looking for a self-motivated, driven data engineer with the a) skills to structure data and b) attention to detail to find the needle in the data haystack. If this is you, don’t hang about, we need you right now!

Your profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Life Cycle Anayst is a requirement

• Able to work with various datasets (different formats, sizes, etc)

• Strong analytical skills and understanding of systems thinking

• Able to translate complex LCA-related content into understandable language for clients

• Attention to detail in your work

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills (you can explain climate science to your grandma)

• Self-motivated, hardworking, and ready to eat, sleep and drink GreenSwapp

Bonus points if you have 

• knowledge of the development of calculation models (e.g. in Python), ETLs, data(base) management 

• the ability to understand client processes and make the connection with IT processes

• a relevant Masters or PhD from a top university

Core tasks / responsibilities

1. Gather data from scientific sources - Understand LCA research and aggregate the results

2. Monitor LCA standards, norms, and guidelines around product carbon footprinting (e.g. ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, PEF, EPDs etc) and Scope 3 accounting frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, SASB, TCFD, CSRD etc) 

3. Define LCA methodologies and data governance according to current regulations and norms, and develop compliant reporting formats

4. Provide subject matter expertise for the development of automation and visualization tools, and test their functionality with respect to predefined requirements

5. Ability to effectively communicate LCA concepts and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve alignment on methodologies and results

6. Further develop GreenSwapp’s product-level impact assessment methodology

7. Be the point of contact for LCA  and PCF-related questions at GreenSwapp
