JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and implementing quality standards:
- Create and maintain quality procedures, specifications, and testing protocols to ensure products meet company and industry standards.
- Conducting quality inspections and audits:
- Regularly inspect production processes and finished products to identify defects, non-compliance, and potential quality issues.
- Data analysis and reporting:
- Collect, analyze quality data using statistical methods to identify trends, root causes of problems, and generate reports for management.
- Continuous improvement initiatives:
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Supplier management:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet quality requirements and address any quality concerns with incoming materials.
- Training and employee development:
- Train employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices to promote a quality-focused culture.
- Customer feedback management:
- Monitor customer feedback and complaints related to product quality and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Compliance management:
- Ensure adherence to relevant quality standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Stakeholder communication:
- Communicate quality performance metrics and improvement plans to management and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Prior Quality Assurance department management is a must
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Required: Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience managing a Quality Assurance department
- Extensive knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard (AS9100 preferred)
- Ability to conduct internal audits and compile QMS performance metrics
- Experience compiling and leading Management Review meetings
- Strong working knowledge of IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ validation framework
- Creativity in problem solving; ability to quantify problems and develop analytical solution development, proficient in data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to be disciplined in approach and thought process.
- Experience with CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) is a plus.
- High level of accountability.
- Experience within quality systems in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.
- Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Strong aptitude for electronic test and measurements systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc. highly desired.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in an office setting as well as on the manufacturing floor.
