Machinist

Position Summary  

This position is responsible to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments while holding specified tolerances. 

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables   

• Read and accurately measure with Dial Calipers, Depth Micrometers, Mechanical Micrometers and Tape Measure. 

• Set-up and operate manual Milling Machine. 

• Set-up and operate manual Lathe Machine. 

• Perform dismantling, fitting or assembly work necessary for maintenance or production equipment. 

• Grind tools, adjust tools, speeds and feed rates for efficiency. 

• Set up and operate various types of machines included but not limited to lathes, mills, grinders and drills and perform progression machining operations for tools or equipment parts with close tolerances. 

• Disassemble tools and diagnose tool problems.  

• Layout, fit and assemble tools where necessary. 

• Work with small parts. 

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 

• Conduct all non-OEM PMs on shop equipment. 

• Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role. 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience  

• 2+ years job related experience  

• Vocational education a plus (Mechanical, Technical or similar) 

• Attention to detail  

• Ability to work to specifications   

• Team-player attitude  

• Problem solving skills  

• Ability to organize own work  

• Knowledge of technical drawings a plus 

• Knowledge of tools, materials and maintenance
