The Logistics Manager will be responsible and accountable for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way. Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…General Task Management<ul><li>Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.</li><li>Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance.</li><li>Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.</li><li>Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.</li><li>Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers</li><li>Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency</li><li>Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria.</li><li>Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.</li><li>Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.</li><li>Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others.</li><li>Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency.</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.</li><li>Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports</li><li>Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records agreements.</li><li>Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock.</li><li>Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.</li><li>Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements.</li><li>Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurate Ensure parts are sourced in full and aligned to production schedules and customer requirements.</li></ul>People Management<ul><li>Manage, coach and develop a high performing Procurement team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.</li><li>Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.</li></ul>Financial and Budget Control<ul><li>Input and hold responsibility for departmental budgets.</li></ul>Relationship Management<ul><li>Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.</li><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.</li><li>Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the maintenance strategy.</li></ul>Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…<ul><li>Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, HND, BTech.
