Job Title: Assistant Equipment Engineer
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Equipment Engineer Manager
Job Description: The Assistant Equipment Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment used in the cell manufacturing process. This role involves ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment used in cell production.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment issues, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Responsible for machine move-in, setup and operations before hand over to manufacturing.
- Ensure parts controlled in place in order to ensure high efficiency on parts control as well as minimum downtime.
- Ensure meeting daily process KPI.
- Equipment Optimization:
- Analyze equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement modifications or upgrades to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new technologies or equipment into existing processes.
- Consistent improve machine downtime to ensure high machine efficiency.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is installed according to specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct testing and validation to confirm proper operation of new equipment.
- Technical Support and Training:
- Provide technical support and guidance to production staff regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on equipment use and best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment specifications, maintenance schedules, and repair activities.
- Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all equipment and processes comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments related to equipment operation.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in equipment technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a cell manufacturing or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, systems, and technologies.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cell manufacturing equipment, such as automation, AGV , heat treatment related industry and cleaning industry.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is a plus.
- TPM Knowledge will be an advantage.
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
- Willingness to continuously learn and update skills.
Working Conditions:
- May require occasional travel to other facilities or vendor locations.
- Standard office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments.
- May require extended hours or flexibility depending on working needs.
