The Body in White Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Product Engineering, New Product Introduction, Line Builders, Equipment Suppliers and other cross-functional teams to ensure Body in White successful launch and running operations of BIW Production line. The role requires understanding of product design, manufacturing assembly processes, and launch phase commissioning process, production operations and quality systems.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex equipment engineering development</li><li>Develop, Review, and Buy-off manufacturing process for new Body in White production line projects</li><li>Work collaboratively with project team on all stages of Body in White line development from conception to launch</li><li>Manage Production line buy-off at Vendor site for process, fixture, quality, joining, equipment, automation</li><li>Manage &amp; coordinate all cross functional groups for onsite installation and commissioning phase of production line</li><li>Prepare and procure all items for station readiness for Body in White line launches</li><li>Able to work cross-functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering Body in White equipment</li><li>Overview Launch execution planning, installation, and commissioning</li><li>Develop and implement Body in White process quality control plans for all Body in White lines</li><li>Participate in PFMEA and develop control and reaction plans for BIW Production</li><li>Participate in Equipment and process continuous improvement for safety, efficiency &amp; throughput optimization and cost reduction</li><li>Utilize analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications / disciplines to problem solve BIW Production issues for equipment and product quality.</li><li>Problem-solve manufacturing dimensional body accuracy issues and strategize execution plan for equipment and part quality loop to achieve body accuracy targets during launch</li><li>Ability to efficiently implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design changes</li><li>Use of 3D modeling and simulations to validate equipment designs</li><li>Familiarity with equipment control systems, equipment I/Os and basic machine coding PLC logic</li><li>Work with layout engineering to prepare and optimize Body in White line layouts</li><li>Experience working with the following equipment: robotics, end of arm tooling, pick and place automation, position sensors, material handling, fluid dispensing, deflection analysis, vision systems, conveyor and laser cleaning/ metrology</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required</li><li>5+ years in Body in White Equipment / Manufacturing / Process Engineering</li><li>Experience in the automotive Body in White equipment design/ Operations is a must</li><li>Experience working with the following equipment: Fixtures, spot welding &amp; other Joining Equipment, Conveyors, robotics, material handling, fluid dispensing, deflection analysis, vision systems, measurement/metrology systems</li><li>Hands-on Experience with BIW related Equipment</li><li>Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.</li><li>Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.</li><li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia</li><li>Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.</li></ul><div><div><p>By Submitting your application, you understand and agree that your personal data will be processed in accordance with our <a href="https://www.lucidmotors.com/s3fs-public/pdf/candidate-privacy-notice.pdf">Candidate Privacy Notice</a>.
