About the Job
- Full time ongoing position based in Welshpool, WA.
- Monday - Friday, 11am - 7pm.
- Extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.
The Asbestos Analyst / Occupational Hygiene Technician role is primarily a laboratory based role, however may also include a field work component. Additionally, assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be accountable for but not limited to:
- Prepare samples for analysis in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.
- Perform routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.
- Analysis conducted will include respirable fibre counting, asbestos identification, inhalable and respirable dust (and associated airborne workplace contaminants), and diesel particulate analysis.
- Ensure external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.
- Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.
