Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusting machine controls or control media as necessary.
- Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
- Set up and operate the machine on a trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Fit and assemble parts into a complete assembly, verifying dimensions and alignment.
Qualifications:
Ability to study and read blueprints, sketches, and drawings
Knowledge and proficiency in Metric Measurement System
Ability to produce high precision parts with close tolerances
Preferred seal manufacturing/rotating equipment industry experience
Stainless steel and alloy experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in conventional, non-conventional, CNC machines/Machining Centers
Capable of advanced milling and turning setup
