Hydrosat is a space and data analytics company building a new Earth Observation constellation and software to unlock the power of thermal infrared imagery. Our mission is to capture and deliver high spatio-temporal resolution thermal infrared data, currently not available from other sources, to provide insights that benefit the environment, enhance food and water security, and serve other critical applications. Our downstream applications team in Luxembourg combines best-in-class remote sensing, machine learning, and cutting-edge fusion approaches to thermal imagery to deliver innovative and scalable solutions to the agri-food industry.

What you’ll do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building highly scalable, distributed web and mobile applications. You will develop software solutions that leverage thermal space imagery to improve water use efficiency and sustainability. Your work will span the entire software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, distributed web and mobile applications.
- Own and drive software projects from concept to deployment, ensuring alignment with business and product goals.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other engineers in the team.
- Participate in code reviews and foster a culture of high-quality engineering standards.
- Develop complex backend services and customer-facing single-page applications (SPAs).
- Work with modern technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, React Native, AWS, and Docker.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience across multiple languages, frameworks, and technologies.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with the ability to quickly learn new languages and tools.
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS or similar).
- Self-motivated and a strong problem-solver, with a passion for tackling complex challenge.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with strong communication and mentorship skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Frontend development experience with React.
- Backend development expertise in Node.js (Express).
- Experience with mobile development (React Native).
- DevOps experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with the geospatial and Earth observation sector.
