Accounts Associate

BasiGo is an early-stage e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionize the public transportation sector by providing bus owners with a cost-effective electric alternative to diesel. We’re looking for an Accounts Associate to join our team. The Accounts Associate will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Process and post various accounting transactions including AP, AR, Reimbursements & Journal entries
• Undertake bank and other related accounting reconciliations
• Support the Finance Team in implementing new financial systems and processes
• Support VAT, withholding tax and payroll related deductions filing
• Enforcing the company’s finance and procurement policies, assisting in procurement processes, including obtaining quotations and preparing purchase requests.
• Support Finance manager with accounting close
• Assist in the coordination of travel arrangements and accommodation for staff and visitors
• Managing office petty cash and reporting thereof
• Manage office supplies stock and place orders
• Any other duties assigned by the manager

Our ideal candidate would have:

Education & Experience:

• • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related fields 
  • Certified accountant (CPA or ACCA)
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in a busy accounting environment  
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles, especially IFRS requirements
  • Experience processing accounting transactions and posting
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, and databases. Additional knowledge of financial software especially Odoo ERP is a plus.
