Job Title: Lead Network and Communications Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Network and Communications Engineer to design, implement, and support advanced network and communication solutions with a specialized focus on Industrial Control Systems (ICS). The ideal candidate will have practical experience in application development, Linux or IOS command-line tools, basic electrical systems, and network troubleshooting. The ability to read schematics is essential, and programming experience is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network and Communication Design:  Develop and implement secure, reliable, and efficient network solutions for BESS systems. Design communication protocols and architectures for seamless integration with SCADA, IoT, and cloud platforms. Optimize network performance to support real-time monitoring and control.

• System Integration and Support:  Configure and manage communication devices, routers, and switches. Diagnose and resolve network and communication issues to ensure system uptime. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper integration of network systems with electrical components.

• Application Development and Programming:  Support application development efforts to enhance communication and system functionality. Utilize programming skills (e.g., Python, C++) for automation and system optimization.

• Technical Documentation and Compliance:  Create and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, schematics, and system configurations. Ensure compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity protocols.

• Leadership and Mentoring:  Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise to junior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in designing and supporting communication systems, preferably in industrial or energy applications.

• Proficiency in Linux or IOS command-line tools for configuration and troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP).

• Practical experience in network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetFlow).

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including reading and interpreting schematics.

• Programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages is a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience with BESS, SCADA systems, or renewable energy technologies.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial networks and relevant ICS-related standards and regulations (.e.g NERC CIP, IEC 62443).

• Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar are advantageous.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively and effectively across geographically-distributed teams.

If you have a passion for designing and implementing network and communication infrastructure and a strong background in OT networking with expertise in Industrial Control Systems, we invite you to apply for this impactful role and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operational technology environment.
