About the Job
Essential duties include but not limited to:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Perform operations and maintenance duties on the company’s treatment system, including monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control their operation.
- Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards.
- Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
- Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records.
- Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
- Analyze instantaneous and historical data to decide and act on needed process/operational adjustments (e.g. demand, chemical dosage, process adjustments).
- Promptly troubleshoot process, instrumentation, data, and mechanical problems.
What will you need to succeed?
- Texas Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License or the ability to obtain through the operator’s exam or reciprocity preferred.
- Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
