About the Job
- Starting pay $24.04 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Rate) with potential for annual increases.
- Vacation: 5 days per year with progression to 15 days per year

- Assist the Dispatch Manager in administrative tasks, ensuring that attendance and performance goals are met, and scheduling requirements are efficiently managed
- Monitor the performance of dispatchers, working closely with the Dispatchers to identify and address any performance issues, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Respond to customer questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
- Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls.
- Provide backup support to dispatching duties as needed without compromising primary administrative responsibilities
- Assist in managing dispatcher schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels and schedule adherence while maintaining commitment to high-quality service
- Manage department reports and other communication tools.
- Support the Dispatch Manager in training new employees.
- Other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 of experience in dispatch, with a preference for experience in an administrative or supervisory role
- Strong administrative, organizational, conflict resolution and communication skills
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Knowledge of the RIDE service area, traffic patterns, and paratransit operations is a plus
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
- Work is accomplished indoors in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
- Sit, type, and look at a computer for extended periods (up to 6–9 hours per day)
- Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
