What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
 
We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for an industrial wastewater treatment site. In this role you will provide primary support with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the treatment facility. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible not only for process monitoring and adjustments but will perform basic to advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC equipment, and various types of electrical equipment including VFDs, power systems, and much more. Our staff participates in an “on call” rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours and shifts may include weekends and holidays. In addition, operators will be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.  The schedule is typically Monday – Friday, with rotating weekends and holiday coverage. Each day presents different challenges and learning opportunities as this site is under various remediation and construction projects. Schedule: Monday through Friday - 6:30am - 3:00pm


What will you need to succeed?

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, electrical and automation equipment, plumbing fixtures, boilers, and compressors.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in wastewater/industrial remediation treatment facility operation and maintenance.
  • A valid New Jersey Class D motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Electrical experience (wiring, wire diagrams, line diagrams, circuit boards, UPSs, VFDs, PLCs) and power system experience.
  • Experience working in an industrial wastewater treatment facility preferred.
  • High School or trade school diploma is required, associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in industrial wastewater treatment work.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, and ability to use & learn various software programs [Hach WIMS, Utility Cloud (or comparable CMMS), and other site-specific programs].
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings, and specifications for work assigned.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to train and onboard new hires as it relates to mechanical tasks to familiarize with the facility operations
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
