About the Job

Who We Are

Nuro exists to better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro has spent eight years developing autonomous driving (AD) technology and commercializing AD applications. The Nuro Driver™ is our world-class autonomous driving system that combines AD hardware with our generalized AI-first self-driving software. Built to learn and improve through data, the Nuro Driver™ is one of the few driverless autonomous technologies on public roads today.

Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Fidelity, Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and other leading investors. We’ve partnered with some of the world’s most respected brands including Uber, FedEx, Domino’s, Walmart, Kroger, and 7-Eleven.

About the Team

Our hardware team is growing and we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to help lead our programs in our mission to better everyday life through robotics.  The Electric Engineering Modules team is a tight-knit group with a deep culture of safety, performance and reliability, which we apply to all of our projects and programs.

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will help lead a talented cross functional team through full product lifecycles and engagement models ranging from in-house design to ODM and tier1 projects with domestic and international partners. Our designs include sensors, vehicle controls, bleeding edge AI powered compute and anything our teams need in our journey toward a driverless world.

About the Work

  • Design and test complex embedded systems based on SOCs and FPGAs.
  • Act as a consultant for compliance and certification efforts.
  • Design low noise and high bandwidth analog/mixed-signal circuits.
  • Design high speed interfaces on boards, as well as high speed serial links crossing modules.
  • Define and execute hardware bringup, validation and integration plans.
  • Mentor and support our talented junior engineers and interns.

About You

  • Demonstrated PCB design skills (schematic/layout), bringup, and debug. Proficient with popular EDA tools.
  • Solid understanding of high speed power and analog circuit layout.
  • Expertise in low noise, high bandwidth signal conditioning, and high speed analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog converters.
  • Hands-on experience with wireless communications including WiFi (through 802.11ax), Bluetooth, GPS, 5G LTE
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, network analyzers, and other debugging tools.
  • Growth Mindset - our challenges are new and novel and require new and novel solutions.

Bonus Points

  • System Architecture experience
  • Ability to analyze the signal path based on structured testing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Altium design tools and Ansys simulation suite
  • Experience with offshore JDM development
  • Knowledge of Verilog, C/C++ and Python is a plus
