In this role, you will help design, build, document, commission, and maintain electrolysis R&D equipment. You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team tasked with troubleshooting and optimizing equipment and metrology that is facilitating electrochemical development of the core EH2 product. The role will require knowledge of multiple disciplines, such as: electrical, mechanical, chemical, and controls with a focus on the electrical side.
You will work onsite, and will be based in San Jose, CA reporting into the Director of Test Engineering.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the operations team running/troubleshooting/commissioning large scale electrolysis systems in San Jose
- Integrate large-scale rectifiers into multiple large scale electrolysis systems
- Investigate the relationship between rectification and electrolysis cell performance
- Develop, and commission high voltage and low voltage electrical systems to support the balance of the plant equipment
- Design, review, document, and implement electrical changes and upgrades to tester platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on electrical engineering work with R&D test equipment
- Experience working with SCADA systems; working with HMI equipment HMI and logging data to a historian for analysis
- Experience with 480 VAC systems
- Experience with low voltage DC communication circuits
- Experience with electrical panel design and documentation
- Read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings from a variety of disciplines
- Experience writing procedures and training users to operate the testers
- Experience with high pressure hydrogen or oxygen systems
- Experience with electrochemistry such as fuel cell or electrolysis systems
- Experience with controls systems such as PLC control coding experience
- Hands-on mechanical experience troubleshooting large fluid systems

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package. We feel strongly that our team should not have to worry about having quality healthcare. In addition to the base salary offered, the hired applicant may receive:
