As a Project Planning and Controls Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of complex engineering projects. You will work closely with element leads, engineers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination, tracking, and reporting of project activities. Your ability to manage schedules, maintain project documentation, and facilitate communication will be key to driving efficiency and meeting critical milestones. We are looking for a highly organized individual with strong problem-solving skills, technical fluency, and experience in project tracking, execution, and performance measurement through KPIs and metrics to ensure project success. Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking project progress using Jira and other project management tools.
  • Monitor and analyze engineering release metrics to assess progress toward milestones, identify risks, and escalate issues to Program Management as needed.
  • Maintain and manage project documentation, including project plans, reports, meeting minutes, and action items, ensuring clear communication and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams, facilitating issue resolution and ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Assist in tracking budgets and analyzing cost trends to assess alignment with overall program and company financials. Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate reporting and financial oversight.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in businesses management, construction management, engineering or a related field (5+ years of related experience may be substituted for the degree).
  • Experience: 2-5 years in project coordination, project planning and controls, administration, or a similar role in an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong technical acumen with an understanding of hardware development processes and product lifecycles.
  • Experience managing and tracking Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

  • Experience with complex integrated hardware projects, ideally in nuclear, space and defense, or aerospace industries.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Jira and other project management tools.
  • Experience with procurement, vendor management, or contract administration.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.

Paid Time Off: 15 days per year based on weekly scheduled hours, 10 paid sick leave, and 13 company-paid holidays for all regular employees (including part-time), fixed-term, and interns.
