Regulatory Reporter – APAC

What You'll Do

• Research, report, and write timely, accurate, and insightful news stories on key regulatory developments, laws, and industry shifts.
• Explore emerging trends in sustainability, particularly those impacting supply chain practices, and translate complex regulations into clear, actionable analysis.
• Focus on areas such as REACH, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and Digital Product Passport (DPP) regulations — turning complexity into clarity for our clients.
• Attend press briefings, conferences, and key industry events (in-person and virtually in the APAC region) to stay ahead of what matters most to our clients.
• Deliver timely, accurate “hard news” updates and craft engaging, in-depth feature stories that offer perspective and strategic insight to our global audience.
• Collaborate closely with 3E’s editorial teams to shape impactful content across platforms, contributing to cross-sector intelligence.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to align news content with customer needs and help drive engagement across our broader suite of compliance solutions.
• Contribute to special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

What Makes You A Great Fit

• Fluency in Japanese and English, including the ability to report, read, write, interview, and translate.
• Residing in Japan with the legal right to work in the country, with a preference for candidates based in the Greater Tokyo Area for proximity to 3E's Tokyo branch.
• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience reporting or writing accurate, well-researched, and impartial news or feature stories.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, with an ability to meet tight editorial deadlines with consistent quality.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory process inJapan, Korean, China and other APAC countries 
• Ability to research and distill complex regulatory topics into concise, accessible reporting.
• Strong sourcing skills — an ability to proactively build networks and cultivate trusted relationships with experts and stakeholders.
• Comfortable speaking, moderating, or presenting at internal and external forums, including industry events.
• Demonstrated ability to track and anticipate regulatory and policy trends.
• An analytical mindset and a flair for creating data-driven, insight-rich stories that inform business decisions.
• Ability to work in an evolving, global environment and make a direct impact on the content.
