What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint provides industry leading cloud services and applications for station owners to manage their charging infrastructure, drivers to keep their EVs charged, and for us to efficiently operate the worldwide network of charging stations. It is critical to provide a reliable charging experience to all stakeholders and maintain a 99.99% uptime.

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and addressing live-site issues to maintain high availability, system performance and security
  • Understand key user-facing metrics and develop SLIs, SLO targets and error budgets
  • Consolidating complete infrastructure monitoring and alerting into a single system
  • (Prometheus + Alertmanager), adding monitoring for missing use cases, enhancing alerts with contextual information (severity, links to dashboards, runbooks, etc.) and tweaking alerting to reduce false positives
  • Upgrading & patching OS, databases, networking & other infrastructure components
  • Optimizing on-call processes, leading incident management, post-mortems, root-cause analysis
  • Continuously finding opportunities to improve system reliability and uptime e.g., by building self-healing systems, adding monitoring for critical scenarios, striving to automate manual processes

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • SRE mindset taking a proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
  • Experience using observability tools and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and fix complex issues in distributed infrastructure & software
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced, fast-growing, and results-driven environment that demands consistent and enduring excellence
  • Ability to identify issues and develop and implement solutions to meet department and company goals
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with complex and demanding deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
  • 5+ years of experience managing distributed systems & web applications with high uptime requirements that are being used by 10’s of millions of users
  • Experience with Linux and LAMP stack
  • Experience with observability tools e.g., Newrelic, Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch, Zabbix, ELK Experience on IaC tools like Ansible, terraform, terragrunt.
  • Self-starter; strong drive, bias-to-action, commitment and work ethic; willingness to take on big challenges and own the results from brainstorm to execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Able to influence others effectively

Location

Campbell, CA

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $70,000 to $185,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
