Senior Building Intelligence Engineer

We need to HEAT, VENTILATE, and AIR CONDITION our buildings 24/7. Most of the energy consumed in a building is for our comfort, but 50% of it is wasted! This is because buildings have little to no technology to control this.Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its residents' demands and adapt the building's systems and machinery in real time. We save our customers:<ol><li>Time - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.</li><li>Money - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also provide quarterly and annual energy savings reports.</li><li>CO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.</li></ol>THE ROLE:We are looking for a Building Intelligence Engineer based in California to join our team and help us ensure that all of our client’s buildings are adapted to work successfully with Parity and take a leadership position in our expansion to the West Coast.&nbsp; The position has the potential to grow into a management position in the near future.&nbsp;Leveraging your background in Engineering and knowledge of HVAC automation/control systems, you will partner with our Sales &amp; Operations teams to ensure that all buildings in our California pipeline and portfolio are quoted, set up, and optimized throughout their time with us. We are looking for someone hungry, eager to learn, and passionate about the energy and ClimateTech space.&nbsp; This position will report directly to the SVP, Western Region.&nbsp; &nbsp;RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Serve as Parity’s subject matter expert in the California market for building automation, HVAC equipment operation, Parity’s optimization strategies, and all relevant local&nbsp; policies, regulations, and incentive programs.</li><li>Conduct on-site assessments of our client's buildings to prepare initial estimated savings, integration costs, and savings for Parity’s service</li><li>Use Parity’s modeling tools to complete an energy analysis of our clients’ buildings based on site assessments, utility data, mechanical equipment specs, building drawings, and current control sequences to estimate the energy savings potential from implementing Parity’s Optimizer service.</li><li>Manage the installation and set-up phase of Parity’s service from start to finish to ensure projects are completed on schedule and budget while keeping clients updated on progress throughout the length of each project</li><li>Ensure accurate communication and between Parity’s software platform and field controllers in clients’ buildings, along with testing control sequence(s) with support from Parity’s programming team to reduce energy waste</li><li>Complete final commissioning and sign off of systems to ensure that Parity’s Service Delivery Team, the Client, and incentive program requirements are met</li><li>Support the sales team by providing them with market details, contacts, and help them develop proposals</li><li>Support incentive application and procurement process on behalf of Parity as necessary</li><li>Develop and maintain understanding of local incentive landscape including determining eligible incentives and relevant requirements for Parity service</li><li>Support Party’s service delivery team as a local technical resource as needed for buildings that are live in the Parity system</li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with local electrical, mechanical, and controls contractors</li><li>Help to optimize existing systems and process to best serve the California market</li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant local policies, regulations, and trends</li></ul>&nbsp;QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Located within commuting distance to downtown Los Angelos</li><li>Have a valid drivers license&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>An academic background in Engineering, with a passion for HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering</li><li>5-10 years experience working in at least one of the following areas:<ul><li>MEP Engineering</li><li>Controls/Building Automation</li><li>Energy auditing, and/or energy services</li></ul></li><li>Ability to travel to client sites in California</li><li>You are eager to grow, learn, and tackle new opportunities in a fast-growing startup environment</li><li>You are a quick learner who only needs to be shown something once before doing it yourself, and then going back to improve the process</li><li>You constantly seek efficiency and optimization of processes and procedures; you look for gaps and work to fill them</li><li>Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following additional qualifications:<ul><li>Experience managing installation/retrofit projects</li><li>Experience working with building automation systems</li><li>Experience with Niagara Tridium products and applications</li><li>Access to a vehicle (gas/mileage will be reimbursed)</li></ul></li></ul>WHY JOIN US?Join Parity during a period of tremendous growth in a key role that directly contributes to our future success.
