About the Job
AECOM is seeking Resident Engineers to work on Highway Bridge and infrastructure related Construction Management projects in New York City's five boroughs.
The Resident Engineer:
- Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact
- Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools
- Manages subconsultants and coordinates with various stakeholders, including contractors, government agencies, and utility companies
- Manages projects on a local to regional basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction
- Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes projects.
- Acts as primary point of contact with clients, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversees and ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control measures on construction sites
- Reviews and approves project submittals, change orders, and payment applications in accordance with contract documents and agency requirements
- Conducts regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Prepares and maintains accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and technical memoranda
- Coordinates and leads project meetings with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders to discuss progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure project goals are met
- Mentors and provides technical guidance to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance
- Utilizes project management software and tools to track schedules, budgets, and resources effectively
- Collaborates with design teams to address field issues and implement design modifications when necessary
- Ensures adherence to NYSDOT and NYCDOT standards, specifications, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle
