About the Job

As a leading force in the carbon removal industry, CO280 is seeking a visionary Head of Product Marketing to spearhead our mission to combat climate change. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on the planet while working at the forefront of climate technology and large-scale carbon removal (CDR) projects. As a key member of CO280’s Commercial team and Head of Product Marketing, you’ll do whatever it takes to successfully position CO280 and our CDR as the leader in the carbon market, creating marketing strategies to drive lead generation and revenue growth. You’ll also create and implement strategies to position us within the pulp and paper industry as the carbon removal project partner of choice. You’ll shape CO280’s product marketing and communications strategy into our two key markets (carbon and pulp and paper), building our public profile and brand.

You Will:

• Increase awareness of CO280’s projects with strategically relevant audiences including CDR buyers, pulp and paper executives, and investors.

• Get our CDR pathway and projects in front of key decision makers at fortune 500 companies such as CFOs to help drive lead generation and revenue growth. Drive CDR top of funnel pipeline growth in a measurable way with quantifiable results.

• Clarify and build on CO280 brand identity and positioning across the value chain.

• Collaborate with the commercial team to create go-to-market strategies and materials for CDR sales.

• Tell the story of our pathway by translating science and engineering into great product marketing. This could include blog posts, case studies, collaborations with scientists, newsletters, videos, or other creative media. You will be responsible for identifying and managing any external consultants needed to enable our content output.

• Own and develop our website content and other digital assets such as LinkedIn, ensuring continuity and consistency of messaging and presentation across all platforms.

• Own and orchestrate our marketing tech stack. Identify gaps and build a marketing engine in partnership with sales.

• Communicate the value of our projects and the benefits of working with CO280 to the pulp and paper industry.

• Identify key influencers in CDR and pulp and paper. Craft and execute marketing strategies to engage them; coordinate with their marketing teams for joint marketing planning to leverage messaging and maximize reach.

• Work hand in hand with sales and project development on account-based marketing.

• Create a marketing calendar which includes strategic attendance at events and help the team secure speaking spots at strategic events if they advance business goals.

Qualifications:

• 7-10+ years of marketing experience including product marketing and communications; familiarity working directly with media, design and PR agencies.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. You can write great press releases, blog posts, and web content. You’re a storyteller and can distill complex concepts into clear content in different voices for different audiences such as sophisticated carbon buyers, executives of pulp and paper companies, data driven prospective investors, and the broader market.

• A marketing generalist who can lead workstreams across the field, but particularly adept at product marketing and building a brand.

• Collaborative by nature and enjoy working iteratively and coordinating directly with multiple stakeholders cross-functionally to get the best result.

• You are an idea generation machine and aren’t afraid to put forward your ideas and debate them.

• You believe that marketing is a tool that serves to accelerate critical business goals so you want to understand every aspect of the business deeply. You aren’t afraid to dig in and learn the technical details.

• As a team of 1 (for now) you aren’t afraid to drive both strategy and execution. You are able to ruthlessly prioritize your time and focus on first things first.

• As a member of a small team of 11, you are entrepreneurially minded and flexible – you are self-motivated and proactive in your work style. You aren’t afraid to raise your hand.

• You have a bias for action and a high bar for quality.

• You have experience tracking and reporting on the results of your initiatives

• Appropriate technical skills: ability to manage and update WordPress website, ability to create webinars, PowerPoint design skills, LinkedIn marketing expertise. • Background in environment, climate, clean energy, or clean tech marketing or communications is a plus.

• You are adept at connecting disparate data points and are intellectually curious. You are willing to learn + figure things out!

• Identify and pursue PR opportunities in service of product marketing and our strategic objectives.

• Manage multi-stakeholder processes with external PR and design agencies, external project partners, and internal collaborators.

• Activate CDR buyers in creative ways! We want you to bring your creativity and strategic brain to this project.

At CO280, you'll join a world-class team with deep expertise in climate tech, clean tech, and energy projects. We're not just talking about change – we're making it happen.

We are a leading project developer of carbon negative projects dedicated to radically altering the trajectory of climate change. Our mission is to lead the world in carbon dioxide removal that sets the highest standards of permanence, quality, affordability at scale. We partner with industrial emitters, technology companies and CO2 transport and storage companies to build, own and operate best-in-class carbon negative projects. Our projects will capture and sequester 10 million tons per year by 2030. We sell CDR – Carbon Dioxide Removals – as our primary revenue source.

We partner with pulp and paper companies to efficiently capture biogenic CO₂ from their mills. By retrofitting these industrial facilities, our projects take advantage of existing infrastructure, established biomass supply chains, and domain expertise — reducing complexity, accelerating timelines, and lowering cost. This enables rapid deployment of permanent, affordable carbon removal to help companies meet their net zero goals.

Carbon removal at scale doesn’t happen in a silo. It takes operational know-how, long-term partnerships, and bold leadership. That’s where we come in — CO280 brings the pieces together to turn climate ambition into real, measurable impact.
