Quality Engineer

We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Quality Engineer to join our team and drive the adoption of CelLink’s technology within the automotive industry. As CelLink is a key component supplier in several areas of Electrification, this is an exciting inflection point for the company. This person will be responsible for driving quality improvement actions for future and existing CelLink products

Position will be based onsite at CelLink HQ (San Carlos, CA)

Duties for this position include:

  • Lead the APQP/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), guiding teams in creating quality documents: Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Inspection and Dimensional Reports, Functional Test Reports, Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDO’s), Packaging Reports, Part Submission Warrants (PSW’s), etc.
  • Effectively interact with customer for PPAP discussions, and resolution on quality issues.
  • Interpret technical requirements and specifications from customers, support design reviews with emphasis on design for quality (DfQ).
  • Create reliability test plans and drive the reliability testing.
  • Create and maintain documents required to get compliant for ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards.
  • Work closely cross-functionally for continuous improvement activities, solving metrology and yield problems and improving overall product quality.
  • Lead failure analysis, root cause understanding of the failure and analyzing field exposure risk in the event of a failure.
  • Data driven and result oriented approach to problem solving. Inclination to be hands on, performing failure analysis, collecting information and data using different metrology tools.
  • Summarize product issues, identify highlights and present them to key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of quality methodology, Design of Experiments (DOEs), statistical process control, quality statistical sampling, reliability methods and theory.
  • Set up IQC, IPQC, and OQC specifications with clear criteria. 

A qualified candidate will have a large subset of these skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Working experience with or knowledge of Quality & Reliability disciplines (8D, APQP, Six Sigma, PPAP)
  • Familiarity with GD&T and electrical and mechanical testing methods 
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949:2016)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), with ability to discuss technical materials with wide range of audiences.
  • Self-starter – not afraid to get your hands dirty, take the lead, wear different “hats” depending on the day in a fast-paced startup atmosphere.
  • Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment – 

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures

The base pay is just one part of CelLink's total compensation package and is determined within a range. The pay range is designed to support your career progression as you learn, grow, and develop within your role. Your base pay range will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

San Carlos, CA Base Pay
$85,000$135,000 USD
