We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. (Note: For EpiSci job openings, fully remote work will be considered by exception.)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Vehicle Cloud team in our Vehicle OS organization. This team is responsible for the full stack of the cloud services associated with managing development and production fleets of vehicles. You and your team will be technical owners of a critical revenue-generating product. Although it’s already profitable, this product is still in early stages with high growth potential and you will be heavily involved in gathering internal and external customer feedback, working with PMs to build an ambitious roadmap, and shaping the long term vision for the product.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a team of talented software engineers
  • Drive technical execution in developing reliable, performant, and user-friendly software with a robust set of features
  • Help the team execute effectively through providing technical guidance, leading careful prioritization, and using best practices for complex software systems
  • Partner with a dedicated product manager to build a category-leading product
  • Meet with and present to current and potential future clients
  • Interview and recruit engineers for your team and help them grow to their full potential

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Programming experience in one of the following: Go, Python, Java, or similar
  • Experience building scalable, operationally excellent backend services for production

Nice to have:

  • Experience working directly with end users
  • Experience working on a full-stack product team (Web UI)
  • Experience working with hardware or vehicles (bonus, but not required)
  • Experience building robust data pipelines

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.

Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.

Please reference the job posting’s subtitle for where this position will be located. For pay transparency purposes, the base salary range for this full-time position in the location listed is:  $204,000 USD to $343,000 USD annually.

Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
