About the Job
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Solar Installer and Technician. The Lead Solar Installer oversees the installation of solar PV systems from start to finish. This role requires hands-on experience, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of solar technology and construction practices. You’ll be responsible for leading install crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and up to code. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a strong interest to learn the solar industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of installers on residential and/or commercial solar installation projects
- Interpret and execute project plans, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Ensure installations meet all safety, quality, and performance standards
- Communicate project status and needs with operations manager and client(s)
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues as they arise
- Perform quality checks and final inspections
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and job site organization
- Train and mentor junior installers
Qualifications
- 3+ years of solar installation experience (at least 1 year in a leadership role preferred)
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, racking, and electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret CAD, electrical, and engineering diagrams
- OSHA 10 (or 30) certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- NABCEP Certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable with climbing ladders, working on roofs, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to travel to various job sites
