Description

As the Senior Director of Contracts/Controller you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end proposal process including cost volume preparation, leading contract negotiation, contract administration and cost reporting, establishing government rate structures, cost pools, and leading the establishment of government accounting policies, processes, and structures. This includes activities to provide and ensure proper contract execution and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications. You will support government contracts, financial reporting, legal and regulatory compliance, and be integral to program success and new growth opportunities. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can’t be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to contractual obligations associated with US Government programs
  • Understand and communicate contract compliance and deliverables with extreme proficiency
  • Participate in contract proposal preparation
  • Lead contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage US Government contracts in accordance with policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements and manage contract changes
  • Review and advise on Terms & Conditions, included FAR, DFAR, and other regulations governing US Government and commercial hardware and services contracts
  • Advise on company practices and policies to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements
  • Lead teams in utilizing and tailoring earned value management practices
  • Establish government rate structures based upon Federal Acquisition Regulations and policies/processes to adhere to regulations
  • Lead cost volume preparation for government proposals
  • Oversee accounting and reporting of government contract costs and revenues
  • Identify and mitigate risks to procuring government contracts
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 4+ years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 5 years' experience managing a team
  • US Government contracting experience that includes FAR/DFAR compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated history of ownership and accountability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions
  • Team player with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proposal development and cost volume / pricing experience
  • Risk analysis experience
  • Experience building Government contracting and accounting best practices from the ground up

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 5 Range: $129,600 - $240,800

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
