ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Business Development Manager is the lead for all commercial and industrial (C&I) accounts and has primary responsibility to strategize, originate, structure, and close offtake arrangements for Clenera's mature utility-scale solar and storage projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive and implement strategy for serving national C&I accounts, including corporates and large-load customers.
- Develop and maintain professional network of C&I accounts and partnerships. Travel and attend in-person meetings as needed.
- Originate and lead negotiations for solar and storage revenue contracts, including but not limited to VPPAs, sleeved PPAs, and behind-the-meter PPAs.
- Coordinate with origination team, including region-specific origination leads, to track, qualify, prepare for, and respond to C&I solicitations.
- Partner with broader development team to develop and maintain C&I market analytics including customer/competitor profiles, market pricing and contract trends, regulatory/policy, go-to market strategy.
- Evaluate and pursue business models to directly meet growing large load/data center demand including but not limited to powered land, behind-the-meter structures, partnering with microgrid/data center developers, etc.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
- Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
- Skills/Attributes:
- Demonstrated success in achieving origination KPIs.
- Ability to effective lead and manage internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with a number of different kinds of stakeholders, especially large load customers and corporate offtake.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
