<div><span style="font-size:10.5pt;">Zoox is seeking an experienced Database Engineeer to take a lead role in managing a portfolio of over 500+ Zoox databases. Working closely with developers and business partners, you will drive the delivery of optimized and scalable database solutions. Your responsibilities will include identifying areas for improvement in our existing database implementation and proactively collaborating with software partners to address them. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in cross-functional collaboration with teams including data science, software development, security, and compliance, influencing key database-related decisions and promoting best practices.</span></div><br><br><h3>In this role, you will:</h3><ul><li>Lead database architecture and design efforts to meet business requirements  </li><li>Develop and maintain database code with a focus on performance and scalability  </li><li>Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through optimization and tuning  </li><li>Administer and secure database servers, ensuring data integrity and availability </li><li>Participate in database on-call support  </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address database needs  </li><li>Document database designs, configurations, and processes thoroughly  </li><li>Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices  </li><li>Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and outages promptly  </li><li>Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to detect and mitigate issues  </li><li>Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve database performance and reliability</li></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience</li><li>Proficiency in AWS Services: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch.</li><li>Expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL: Database architecture, administration, performance tuning, replication.</li><li>Knowledge of Major Database Technologies: Oracle, Postgres,Mysql,Redshift.</li><li>Performance Optimization and Tuning: Query optimization, indexing strategies, hardware optimization.</li><li>Shell Scripting: Bash scripting for system administration, deployments, workflows.</li><li>Database Design and Modeling: Normalization, denormalization, efficient schema design.</li><li>Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: Analytical, diagnosing complex issues, optimizing system performance.</li></ul><h3>Bonus Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Strong Programming Skills in Python: Data manipulation, analysis, automation.</li><li>Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform,Salt</li><li>DevOps Practices: CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, Git for version control.</li><li>Data Integration and ETL: Integrating data from multiple sources, ETL processes, data warehousing.</li></ul><br><div><b>About Zoox</b></div><div>Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.
