What you will do

Under general direction, maintain control over the scheduling, recording and ordering of materials for production. Additionally, plans and directs the work of operators within the department, drive safe and quality minded behaviors throughout the manufacturing process, and ensures that the department is running smoothly. The Production Control Supervisor operates independently within general procedural patterns with latitude for judgement on methods of implementation. A proven track record of creative problem solving, following through and effective communication is essential.

How you will do it

  • Assist Supply Chain Manager in developing inventory parameters for batteries and components.

  • Recommend systems to control inventories within established parameters.

  • Maintain accuracy of bills of materials and production item files.

  • Establish daily manufacturing schedules to meet shipping commitments and inventory requirements.

  • Order materials to meet production schedules and sales forecasts, and follow up with vendors to ensure availability.

  • Analyze problems and submit recommendations for changes to the Manager in case of schedule failures.

  • Supervise union personnel, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, quality, operations, budget, and production targets. Train and evaluate direct reports.

  • Ensure good communication between departments, resolve problems collaboratively, and drive performance metrics while fostering a fair and inclusive work environment.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelors or equivalent degree

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Production Planning & Control, Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory Control or equivalent fields.

  • Knowledge or previous experience using an inventory systems, maintenance planning software and a variety of PC based tools is required.

Preferred

  • Previous leadership or training experience preferred.

  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred.

Geneva, Illinois is home to a fully integrated plant that manufactures batteries used in the automotive and marine industries. As a fully integrated plant, we also decorate our batteries into the final product for our customers. We have been in Geneva since 1960, and today we are one of the largest employers in town with 265 people. We operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through The Salvation Army.
