Position Specific Description

The PV Solar & Battery Technician ­­­I will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy's photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery storage systems located at Arlington Solar near Blythe, California. As a member of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of clean energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance and inspection of PV solar systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to PV solar systems, including inverters, modules, and monitoring systems.
  3. Conduct electrical testing and measurements to verify system functionality and compliance with relevant guidelines.
  4. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide technical feedback and assist in system optimization.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
  6. Document all work performed, including system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  7. Provide training and support to other team members and contractors as needed.
  8. Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices to enhance knowledge and skills.

Job Overview

The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 2+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade School Graduate
  • Licensed Electrician
  • Licensed Master Electrician
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

 

The estimated base pay for this position is $59,200.00 to $88,800.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
