About the Role:

RES is seeking a Senior Electrical Power System Analyst to conduct complex power system analyses, maximizing project value and managing technical risks across all phases of renewable energy projects. Group Engineering supports RES’s global low-carbon initiatives, driving cost efficiency and innovation. The role of the team is to provide specialist support and technical leadership through direct project support, electrical system design, in-house and third-party design reviews, electrical power system analysis for electrical design works and grid connection studies, R&D and support to New Markets and New Technologies.

Key Safety Responsibilities include but not limited to:  
  • Develop and implement static, dynamic, and transient models for electrical power systems in wind farms, solar PV farms, energy storage systems, and hybrid generation projects.
  • Design control algorithms and solutions for complex network characteristics and performance requirements.
  • Perform electrical design studies, including load flow, short circuit, voltage profile, and system losses.
  • Conduct specialized power system analyses, including harmonic analysis and insulation coordination.
  • Lead grid compliance studies, such as voltage control, frequency response, and fault ride-through.
  • Produce high-quality reports and presentations, providing technical recommendations based on simulation results.
  • Provide training and support to global teams, developing and maintaining systems and processes across regions.
 
Skills & Experience:  
  • Electrical studies using Digsilent, PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex technical documentation
  • Ability to define requirements with the customer and deliver to scope, budget and program
  • Awareness of the commercial impact of electrical analysis on project value and risk
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks from multiple projects and clients
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and interact with internal and external clients
  • Power system modelling of distribution, transmission and large generation projects including onshore and offshore wind farms, solar PV farms, energy storage system and hybrid generation projects
  • Developing control system algorithms & models
Qualifications:
  • PhD or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering or equivalent experience
