Wartsila Voyage Services is looking for an experienced Project Manager for full-scale project deployment within the organization.
The types of projects include:
- Vessel Traffic Systems (VTS)
- Coastal Surveillance Systems (CSS)
- Support and maintenance of the above
Responsibilities:
- End-to-end responsibility for successful project deployment from taking over from Sales and until handing over to support/warranty. Main KPIs:
- Maintaining or exceeding planned project margin
- Timely completion of each of the project phases
- Always maintaining project operational and financial planning in actual state
- Achieving high level of customer satisfaction (4.8+/5)
- Ensure all areas of project management activities from the beginning to the end of the project are managed, including:
- Procurement and contractor’s management, activity coordination with operational and logistic departments.
- Project scope of supply planning, verification (FAT, SAT, etc.), and delivery.
- Project schedule planning and control.
- Project costing, budget planning and control; cooperation with the financial department.
- Project communication management includes delivering project expectations, tasks, needs, and progress reports to the project team and the defined stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Project risk planning, assessment, and control, pre-emptive and corrective actions to mitigate or minimize potential risks impact.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Escalate changes that affect project cost or payment milestones to Project Sponsor, plan countermeasures.
- Close project, conduct project evaluation, identify and report most successful and unsuccessful project elements for knowledge base.
- Adhere to internal company and functional policies and procedures.
- Project technical specification and scope of supply review.
- Identification and evaluation of technical solutions, preferred models and vendors for 3rd party equipment which is to be used within the scope of supply.
- Performing customer support by email, phone, and on-site participation in customer visits.
- Performing quality control of completed job.
- Continuous improvement of professional competence.
- Follow health and safety requirements of Wartsila and/or locals, whichever applies
- Follow Quality Management system requirements.
- Work according to the Commercial Project Management process adopted and utilized by Wartsila, using appropriate tools.
- Assist the Sales Manager in reviewing a competent project offer, specifically focused on the technical solution, scope of supply, necessary resources for project deployment, schedule, risks, and cost
- Foster process improvement and coordination with other departments of the organization
Skills and requirements:
- Solid and demonstrated (3+ y) project management experience within software/system integration/maritime. The applicant will be required to give and explain in details specific examples from their experience
- Result-oriented mindset, dedication, and commitment to achieving the company goals
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrated multi-cultural communication experience
- Advanced level of English language, including technical English
- Solid technical skills, proven track of communication with engineering/SW development departments
- Knowledge of second/third language (preferred: Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese)
- PMP® certification
- Experience/knowledge in ports operations
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (Kanban, Scrum, MS Project etc.)
