Who You Are
The Senior Production Planner / Scheduler is a strategic leader responsible for developing and translating high-level Sales, Inventory & Operations Plans (SIOP) into detailed daily execution and scheduling. This role optimizes production flow, manages complex inventory, and drives cross-functional alignment through in-depth manufacturing knowledge. Exceptional communication skills are essential for effectively conveying plans and collaborating with stakeholders. A proven track record in developing and implementing planning methodologies within dynamic manufacturing environments is crucial for success in this critical position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement strategic long-term production schedules and tactical daily plans, aligned with business goals and SIOP processes.
- Optimize production efficiency through advanced planning tools, optimization algorithms, and ERP system enhancements, considering factors like process conditions, resource constraints, and costs.
- Conduct proactive scenario planning and risk assessment to mitigate production bottlenecks and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate and improve production planning effectiveness, including analyzing raw material consumption and optimizing inventory management.
- Serve as a key liaison across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain, leading cross-functional teams and presenting complex analysis to senior management.
- Mentor junior scheduling staff and develop comprehensive documentation to drive continuous process improvement.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in production planning and/or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing advanced planning methodologies and optimization algorithms.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize ERP systems to manage production planning and scheduling processes.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading projects and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic planning improvements.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Reach low shelves or items on the floor
- Climb stairs or over containment walls
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
The starting base pay for this role is between $118,000 and $149,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. #LI-Onsite
