Swapfiets has bikes, lots of bikes. At the moment more than 240.000! A large part of these bicycles are stored in our warehouses. If you're looking for a good job in a fast-growing scale-up: then don't look any further! You're the reason our Swapfiets bikes are all over the city and, when things go south, you're the hero who fixes them. You help make sure that everything runs like a breeze!.

How you pedal us forward!

• Serves as the mechanic team instructor, sharing knowledge and expertise;

• Training of (E-)Bike Mechanics, supports new colleagues in the onboarding program, and provides repair training for Swappers;

• Give input to the Quality Controller & Repair Specialist on the training;

• Creating & updating skills matrix repairing team;

• Responsible for all quality inspections;

• Biannual training with the Quality Manager and other Training & Quality Mechanics;

• Weekly quality meetings;

• Repairs, checks, and cleans (E-)Bikes following the Swapfiets standards, if you are not busy with the other responsibilities;

• Has full autonomy with being an experienced mechanic; identifies complex bike repair problems and supports the more (inexperienced) mechanics; 

• Repairs special cases;

• Ensures the (E-)Bikes product and repair data is properly captured and up to date in the repair database;

• Delivers on the Swapfiets quality promise, following the standard operating procedures and the quality controls and audits;

• Keeps the workstation clean; 

• Follows process for inventory management of (E-)Bikes and parts to keep healthy data up to date.

The gear you need!

• MBO bike mechanic, and some years of experience as a mechanic;

• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience;

• You have relevant work experience as a bike mechanic;

• You have experience in giving trainings to bike mechanics;

• Structured and organised way-of-working;

• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Docs;

• Good with all type of people;

• Strong communication skills;

• Giving feedback to colleagues;

• You have an eye for detail and are a bit of a perfectionist;

• You can work independently but also as a part of the mechanics team;

• You understand and speak English;

• You are in possession of a driving license B;

• There is no bike you can not fix!
