Job Description
Reporting to Contract Coordinator, Contract Administrator will perform the commercial tasks, including but not limited to the interpretation of contracts, formal letter drafting, administrative tasks, and preparation of reports on various contractual/commercial matters.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, review, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies, and drafting contractual letters as needed.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations.
Work closely and collaboratively with Contract Coordinator in the daily management of contractual/commercial matters.
Prepare regular reports on project progress, financial status, and contract performance for internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in, prepare for, lead (as required) internal stakeholder and or client/subcontractor meetings as required.
Prepare presentations and reports as required to support project activities and stakeholder communication.
Maintain organized and accurate records of all commercial activities, including contract documents, change orders, and correspondence.
Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with the project.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities to find new and better ways of operating, leading to increased effectiveness and efficiency.
Create a supportive culture that encourages innovation and improvement and a team that embraces change.
Perform clerical duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and document management.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth and effective communication regarding commercial matters.
Support the Contract Coordinator with any other daily commercial/contractual activities as needed.
Required Skills and Competencies
This role requires a high sense of responsibility, great attention to detail, and interest in pursuing a career in the commercial/contract departments in the construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, or a related field.
Up to 5 years of experience in a commercial or administrative role within the construction industry is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively on a diverse team and fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and pay attention to detail.
Ability to identify and analyze problems and provide solutions.
Ability to self-manage, be solution-oriented, be organized and be flexible.
Knowledge of contract management and financial principles is an asset.
