SUMMARY
Performs dimensional and visual inspection of incoming purchased materials.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Routinely conducts inspection of received parts.
Maintains record of inspections and prepared lists of defects.
Utilizes precision measuring devices and electronic equipment to ensure compliance of parts and product with established specifications.
Interacts with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control Manager to ensure compliance with specifications and facilitate the acceptance of parts.
1. Product Inspection:
Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products
Compare results against engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
2. Measurement & Testing:
Use calibrated tools and equipment to take precise measurements
Conduct functional or performance testing if applicable
3. Documentation & Reporting:
Record inspection results in paper logs or digital systems
Tag non-conforming products and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs)
4. Process Audits:
Perform routine checks to ensure processes are followed correctly on the shop floor
Assist in internal audits as needed
5. Support Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback to production and engineering teams
Suggest improvements to prevent recurring quality issues
6. Compliance:
Follow QMS procedures and safety protocols
- Help maintain compliance with standards like ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, etc.
7. Calibration Support:
Ensure inspection tools are calibrated and within tolerance
Your Profile / Qualifications
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $22 - $24 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
Education:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Associate’s degree or technical certification in quality control, manufacturing technology, or a related field (preferred)
2. Experience:
1–3 years in manufacturing or quality inspection
Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
Experience with measuring tools and inspection techniques
3. Skills:
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Basic computer skills (for entering inspection data)
Good communication and documentation skills
