HSE Lead – Projects & Operations

Reporting to the Country Managing Director, this is a key role in cultivating a proactive and collaborative safety culture across GEA’s sites in Australia.  This hands-on role focuses on empowering frontline teams, guiding managers, and ensuring consistent application of GEA’s safety systems and standards.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site HSE coaching and operational support across project teams and business units.
• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of integrated management systems aligned with GEA global requirements.
• Coordinate site audits and inspections and support timely close-out of actions.
• Facilitate risk assessments and hazard control implementation at the operational level.
• Lead or support incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Manage injury recovery processes and assist with return-to-work plans as needed.
• Deliver HSE training and toolbox engagement sessions across locations.
• Support the application of Group and Regional HSE policies.

Your Profile / Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in OHS or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ health and safety management experience, including experience within manufacturing, service, engineering and / or project environments
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of Australian regulations and standards, including occupational health related issues.
• Knowledge of management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Flexible and willing to travel within Australia.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
