Acciona is looking for a an Operations Support Technician/Traveling Wind Turbine Technician travel as needed to service ACCIONA projects throughout the North America region. This position works with a team of well-trained professionals to maintain facilities surrounding wind turbines focusing on major component replacement and associated preventative maintenance. This requires attention to safety regulations for the industry and is important for overall safety on the job.Job Description
- Perform assembly, commissioning, testing, retrofitting, repair and maintenance on wind turbine generators and related equipment at a wind farm
- Execution of all repairs at all renewable generating locations (with a primary focus on Major Components in Wind Turbines) in accordance with established procedures
- Follow the companies processes and procedures to safely and effectively maintain Acciona renewable generating facilities for “Best in Class Performance”
- Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components and equipment associated with wind turbines
- Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner
- Conduct safety analysis and review of hazards and energy sources prior to and while performing any work assignment on the wind farm
- Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance assignments
- Maintain required training certifications and qualifications as to enable personnel to safely perform work related tasks in a quality matter
- Support Root Cause Analyses to assist in determining equipment failure and the reasons for failures when they occur
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills and Competencies
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, college degree or technical education degree a plus, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
Ability to travel to domestic and international locations for work and/or training for extended periods of time
Travel: 50% - 85% depending on home base location

Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required
Previous experience working with hand tools and power tools
Previous experience with Wind Turbine Major Component work
Basic familiarity with rigging
Able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at heights of 120M
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in adverse and extreme weather conditions, in dust, pollen, weeds, grasses, and in confined spaces
Ability to be certified and work with both medium and high voltage equipment
Maintain required training certifications
Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport
Working conditions
Our technicians are provided with the necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform their duties safely and efficiently, along with a uniform allowance. Technicians also receive GWO training and certifications to ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, all our turbines are equipped with lifts to assist with elevated tasks.

Eligible candidates may qualify for a $2,500 sign-on bonus if they hold current, verifiable Global Wind Organization (GWO) certifications, completed within the last 12 months, including Basic Safety Training (BST) and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) modules. Required BST modules are Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Fire Awareness, and ART modules must cover Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade Rescue, and Nacelle, Tower, and Basement Rescue. Certifications must have at least 12 months of validity remaining
5% Annual Performance Bonus
5% Availability bonus
Base Pay: $28 – $38 p.hr (based on experience, education, and skillset)
Eligibility for compensation uplift when performing specialized work or travel
